Aaron Rouse

Senator | Virginia Beach, VA







Senator Aaron R. Rouse currently represents State Senate District 7, which includes parts of the cities of Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Aaron was born and raised in Virginia Beach. He attended First Colonial High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Rouse was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2007 NFL Draft and also played for the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals. After retiring from the National Football League, Rouse returned home to Virginia Beach to begin his career in public service. He served as a coach and a mentor before founding Rouse’s House, a nonprofit organization that serves to establish education as the foundation for today’s youth, with a primary goal of exposing youth and families in the community to a broader world of learning. On November 6, 2018, Rouse was elected to the Virginia Council as an at-large member. On January 10, 2023, Rouse was elected to the Virginia State Senate. He enjoys outdoor activities and currently resides in the heart of Virginia Beach with his wife, Virginia Beach Councilwoman Jennifer Valentine-Rouse, and son and daughter.

James Walkinshaw

James Walkinshaw currently serves on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, representing the Braddock District. He is Chairman of the Board’s Legislative Committee, responsible for Fairfax County’s legislative agenda in Congress and with the Virginia General Assembly. He also serves on the Northern Virginia Regional Commission, the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the National Capital Regional Transportation Planning Board, the Fairfax County Council to End Domestic Violence, and the Virginia Railway Express Executive Committee.

During more than a decade of service as Chief of Staff to Congressman Gerry Connolly, James oversaw all aspects of the Congressman’s office and served as his chief adviser on a host of issues, working closely with local, state, and federal officials. On the Board of Supervisors, James has worked to ensure that Fairfax County continues to be a great place to live, work, and raise a family. He has led initiatives to address climate change, reduce plastic pollution, support small businesses, and provide tax relief to military families.

In 2022, James secured approval for an innovative public-private partnership that will deliver hundreds of new affordable housing units and child care for low and moderate income families on the grounds of the Fairfax County Government Center complex.

Irene Shin

A resident of downtown Herndon, Irene Shin has been involved in public service in Virginia since 2014. Irene currently works as Executive Director of the Virginia Civic Engagement Table, a nonprofit organization that organizes communities to increase civic education and engagement across the Commonwealth.

Previously, Irene has worked with Supervisor John Foust, now-Vice President Kamala Harris, and spent many years in community and political organizing, as well as a number of nonprofits to recruit and support Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and Women to run for office.

Phillip D. Jones is the 27th Mayor of Newport News, Virginia. In this role, he strives to improve education, invest in public safety, and modernize City Hall. On January 10, 2023, Mayor Jones took the oath of office as the city’s youngest-elected mayor. In the wake of 9/11, Mayor Jones accepted a nomination to the United States Naval Academy and served as a Marine Corps infantry officer. Gerry Connolly

Congressman Gerald E. “Gerry” Connolly is serving his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia’s 11th District, which includes Fairfax County, Prince William County, and the City of Fairfax. Prior to his election to Congress, he served 14 years on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, including five years as Chairman. Throughout his career, protecting and growing Northern Virginia’s economy has been his top priority.

In Congress, he has played a key role in securing federal dollars for transportation improvements in Northern Virginia, including completion of the Fairfax County Parkway, widening the Prince William County Parkway, providing ongoing support for Rail to Dulles, and securing the annual federal commitment of $150 million for the regional Metro system.

Congressman Connolly is a senior member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform and serves as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations. In this role, he is responsible for shaping government-wide policy for a broad range of issues, including federal workforce and federal agency oversight, federal procurement and information policy, national drug policy, regulatory reform, the United States Postal Service, the United States Census Bureau, and the District of Columbia.

He also serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Using his extensive background in foreign policy, including as a senior staff member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he has become a leading voice on foreign assistance reform, war powers, embassy security, and democracy promotion abroad.

Congressman Connolly co-authored the bipartisan Issa-Connolly Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), which was signed into law in 2014, and represents the first major overhaul of the federal laws governing IT management since enactment of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996. In 2016, he passed the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act, which allows temporary employees of land management agencies to now be eligible for civil servant positions. He also helped pass the Telework Enhancement Act, which requires the federal government to increase the use of telework by federal employees to ensure continuity of operations by federal agencies during emergency situations, enhance recruitment of a quality federal workforce, reduce traffic congestion, and improve the region’s air quality.

Mark Warner

Mark Warner was elected to the U.S. Senate in November 2008, and reelected in 2014. In his first term in the Senate, Senator Warner established himself as a national leader in efforts to find bipartisan consensus to create balanced solutions to reduce the federal debt and deficit. He also is a leader in Congress in efforts to promote private-sector innovation and to help our nation’s small businesses and start-up companies succeed. From 2002 to 2006, Senator Warner served as Governor of Virginia, where he worked in a bipartisan way to turn record budget deficits into a surplus. Before entering public office, Senator Warner was an early investor in the cellular telephone business. Molly Ward

Former Mayor / Hampton, VA




Molly Ward is the former mayor of Hampton, Virginia where she served from 2008 to 2013. She was appointed as Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources by Governor Terry McAuliffe in 2014, where she served until 2018. She is currently serving as Treasurer for the city of Hampton, Virginia.

Molly Ward is a native of Hampton and has dedicated much of her life to public service. Prior to serving as treasurer, she was elected twice as mayor of Hampton and conservation has played a major role in her career. She lives in her family home on Sunset Creek near the mouth of Hampton Roads and has spent her life on the water fishing, crabbing, and enjoying the natural resources of Virginia.

Jennifer Wexton

Jennifer Wexton was elected to serve as a U.S. Congresswoman for Virginia’s 10th district in 2018. Before that, Jennifer Wexton served as a representative from 2014 to 2019. She has been serving the people of Northern Virginia for nearly two decades as a prosecutor, advocate, state senator, and now a member of the US House of Representatives from Virginia’s 10th District.

Rob Krupicka

Former Delegate | Alexandria, VA




Rob Krupicka is a proven progressive leader with over ten years of experience as an elected official. He served as a Delegate from 2012 to 2016. On the Alexandria City Council, Rob worked to expand mass transit. He pushed policies that increased Pre-K classes, secured raises for teachers, helped increase biking and walking, led the effort to dramatically increase recycling, and co-founded the organization Eco City-Alexandria that has made his city a recognized leader in energy conservation and sustainability. During his first year at the General Assembly, Rob successfully passed a law to make it easier for restaurants to donate food to non-profits and established himself as an education leader through his promotion of Pre-K and his efforts to make sure our education system supports the needs of every child.

His legislative priorities included efforts to expand Pre-K access, to reform Virginia’s high stakes tests and school rating system, and to continue to push for reforms to Virginia’s mental health system. Rob was also an early innovator in online financial services, developing one of the first online banking web sites and helping to create America Online’s financial services strategy.

Wes Bellamy

Former City Councilmember / Charlottesville, VA






Wes Bellamy was elected as Vice-Mayor of the city of Charlottesville. He was elected to the Charlottesville City Council in 2015. He is a former Board Advisor for the PHAR (Public Housing Association of Residents) Board, has served on the Charlottesville Housing Advisory Committee, and is currently on the Charlottesville Police Citizens Advisory Panel. Wes’s primary focus is on improving the lives of those who lack resources and positive role models in the lives of youth, through programming and education. He strives to do this by sponsoring community days, coat drives, and empowering as many youth as possible through HYPE (Helping Young People Evolve). Started in December 2011, HYPE is a boxing and mentoring program serving boys and girls in the Charlottesville/Albemarle urban ring. In September 2012, “HYPE Steppin” was created as an empowerment program for young women. HYPE, based and predicated on discipline and accountability, has seen positive results. Since the program’s creation, the overall GPA of participants jumped from a 1.8 to 3.2 over the course of approximately 2.5 years. Its success led to a second location in Columbia, SC, which opened in May 2014.

Wes started his career in the Charlottesville area at the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC). After leaving NGIC, Wes wanted to focus on being an advocate for people in the community. He was encouraged to pursue a career as a teacher, and eventually hopes to be a principal. He currently teaches computer science and sponsors several clubs and groups at Albemarle High School and is pursuing a doctorate degree at Virginia State University. Wes also serves as the Vice President of the 100 Black Men of Central VA, is an advisor for the Collegiate 100 Black Men of Central VA (UVA Chapter) and is an African American Teaching Fellow. He is also the President of the Young Black Professional Network (YBPN) of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville/Albemarle Alliance of Black School Educators (CAABSE).
